Alison Zimmer took her first yoga class in 2008 to help her navigate a journey through grief. It was the yoga practice that helped her heal, and learn the tools on how to move forward in a healthy way. The physical practice was nice, but it was the change in her mental health that made her stay. She became certified yoga teacher in 2011 so that she could share this practice and help others with their trauma and pain. Being an instructor gives her life deep purpose, and she can't wait to guide you through the many healing powers that this practice has to offer. When she isn't teaching yoga, you can find Alison tutoring kids in algebra and educating kids about slope intercept form.

Alison grew up in Huntington Beach and opened The Zen Den HB in April 2022. She hopes that her community will benefit in many ways from this space. From birth to death, and everything in between....life is full of hard times. Alison knows this, and wants to help you feel happy, healthy, and at peace with what life throws your way.

Saturday 9:00-10:00am Gentle

In 2007, Linda began her journey practicing yoga as a way of relieving constant stress  and tension in her neck, shoulders and back caused by being a Dental Hygienist for over  25 years.  She felt amazing relief in her body after several classes.  What surprised her  most was how calm and peaceful her mind felt after class due to the deep mindful  breathing.  From that point on she became a dedicated and life long yoga practitioner.

Inspired by her family, Linda completed her 200, 300 and Prenatal teacher training at  Yoga Shakti studio.  She is also certified to teach Chair, Yin yoga plus Sound Meditation. In 2015, Linda began teaching yoga and continues to commit herself to learning and  growing staying up to date with authentic practices.  She sees herself as the student  always learning in order to provide the best mind body experience for the classroom.

Yoga gave me back the health and the life I thought I had lost; gifting me with a profound awareness of the importance of “Being in Stillness”.
-Margie Hunter

Margie Hunter
Yoga teacher, mentor

[email protected]

In 1999 Margie was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.  Among many other symptoms, she lost all sense of balance and depth perception.  That part of her brain had been damaged.  At a loss on what to do, Yoga found its way to her.  She has been able to regain her balance and depth perception and eliminate all the other disabling symptoms that had been caused by MS, through her yoga practice and lifestyle changes.  She studied Raja yoga for the past 25 years under Sri Bhupendra Soneji, in the tradition of Swami Satyananda Saraswati, including classical yoga, yogic philosophy, and application of therapeutic practices as a student, as well as a teacher.  She further enhanced her practice under the guidance of Swami Maheshananda;  becoming part of the team of teachers for SIYA International.
She dove deeply into her practice as she felt herself heal and came to the realization that her dharma (purpose) was to pass that possibility of healing on to others.  MS was the gift that brought yoga and her purpose to her.
Margie has been teaching for the past 17 years.   She approaches teaching the process of healing by bringing the nervous system into a balanced state, creating homeostasis through breath/pranayama, posture/asana and stillness of meditation, thus giving the body the space to repair. No matter what name is given to a dis-ease, the body needs to be brought back to ease and balance to heal.  Yoga is the perfect process for that.  She is the author of “Transcending MS”, written to reach those whom she hasn’t been able to reach in person.

Official Certifications:
250 hour yoga and yoga therapy certification - SIYA International - government of India
Advanced certification in Yoga Nidra
Certified HeartMath practitioner
Bio-Well practitioner
